Since its establishment over 25 years ago, Star Engineering's professionals have served our customers by providing Civil Engineering and Environmental & Ground-water Management Services on major projects such as during the planning and construction phases of linear projects (fiber-optics networks, oil & gas pipelines, underground utilities, and geotechnical engineering and ground-water quality monitoring of CCR storage units; Below are brief descriptions of a few of our past project experiences:
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) projects:
For over the past twelve years, Star's staff have served TVA's Fossil Generation Development & Construction Organization's Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) engineering management group. Star staff's functions and responsibilities have included serving as Internal Technical Reviewer (ITR) and providing technical guidance assistance for the planning and implementation of numerous projects and programs to reduce the risks associated with the formerly wet-impounding and presently dry-stacking of CCR Materials at active and inactive TVA fossil power-generating plants. Star staff's work has also included oversight of subsurface investigations of existing earthen embankments/dikes, slope stability, and seepage assessments, soil & water monitoring instrumentation, seismic analysis, and design of Civil Works improvements to impoundment structures, including spillways and fluid conveyance pipes. Star staff provided guidance during the planning and implementation of TVA's Ground Water Quality Monitoring Program to fulfill the requirements of the federally mandated CCR-Rule. Star also helped TVA's staff during the development of standards for CCR stacking plans, inspection monitoring, and geotechnical instrumentation data interpretation and hazards triggering of CCR impoundment structures.
ARCOS-1 Submarine Cable Project:
This United States-based project consisted of the planning and construction phases of one of the world’s longest submarine broadband fiber-optic cable networks that included cable-landing sites at over 15 countries throughout the Caribbean basin and North, South, and Central America.
Bolivia to Brazil Natural Gas Pipeline:
This pipeline extends for 3000 kilometers from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to Porto Alegre, Brazil, and crosses several important ecosystems: the Gran Chaco, the Pantanal (i.e., the world’s largest wetland), and the Mata Atlantica Rainforest of Southeastern Brazil.
Santa Cruz to Cuiaba Natural Gas Pipeline:
This pipeline extends for over 600 kilometers from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to the city of Cuiaba, Brazil, and crosses the Bolivian and Brazilian Pantanal and a series of mountain ranges.
Peru LNG Natural Gas Pipeline
This pipeline extends for over 409 kilometers from the Andes Mountains down to the Coastal region of Peru. It is a US $3.5 Billion construction project that includes a Liquefied Natural Gas Export facility and the pipeline transport system to tap into the Camisea blocks located in the Amazon Jungle.
The BTC Oil pipeline Project
This pipeline extends for a length of 1768 kilometers through Azerbaijan, the Republic of Georgia, and Turkey;
The SCP Natural Gas Pipeline
This pipeline extends for a length of 1768 kilometers through Azerbaijan, the Republic of Georgia, and Turkey.
We've successfully completed numerous major and small projects! So for additional information, please write us and ask for Star's Civil Engineering and Environmental Management Projects Brochure!
